Sonett is manufacturer of ecological laundry detergents and cleaning agents.
Since its beginnings we have considered Sonett “an enterprise belonging wholly to itself”. Looking at it from this point of view, neither Sonett nor any other company is a negotiable commodity or object of speculation. We do need profits, but they are not the purpose.
Sonett is neither saleable nor inheritable. Profits remain within the company, are distributed to the employees, and flow into the Sonett Non-Profit Foundation.
In 2014 we have instituted the form of the “double foundation” – but not as a family foundation. We consider this form of foundation a costly stop-gap. We feel that a proper legal form for “Verantwortungseigentum” (Steward-Ownership) would be most desirable.
Sonett is a founding member of the Foundation for Steward-Ownership.
